National Dental College & Hospital was established in 1999 at village Gulabgarh, Dera Bassi (Near Chandigarh) by Medical Educational and Rural Welfare Society (Regd.). 

The College is affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot and approved by Govt. of India Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, New Delhi.

The College Management Committee is headed by Lt. Col. Gurbir Singh Sandhu as President and Col. K. S. Cheema as Secretary. Dr. Sandhu is vigorously pursuing and guiding academic activities of the college. S. Dilbag Singh Sandhu of Shri Hargobindpur have contributed liberally towards the development of this college. The College runs its own Multi-specialty 100 bedded Hospital with Medicine and Surgery as main Departments. Guided and funded mostly by NRIs, Doctors and Army officers.

The main focus is to impart very high quality teaching and practical training which is rare in Northern India. Provision of well maintained play-grounds for staff & students. Three story College building is nearing completion with all faculties coming up. Lush green lawn and excellent plantation adds to the beauty of the new campus.

Dr. (Air Cmde) S. K. Taneja, AVSM (Retd.), looks after the planning of building and development of faculties. He is the founder advisor/consultant of the college.

Dr. (Maj Gen) V. K. Sood, former Director General of Army Dental Corp, looks after the execution of the faculties and advises the Management on all academic activities. He is known as one of the best Dentists with 38 years of service in the Army.

Dr. (Mrs.) Jaswir Shergill, former Principal of Govt. Dental College, Patiala is the founder Principal with vast experience of management.

Dr. (Brig) Man Mohan Singh, MBBS, MD (Medicine), looks after the General Hospital as Medical Superintendent and in charge. He is Head of the Department of Medicine. He has an experience of 28 years in AFMC as a Professor.
